The Bumblebee Goby, scientifically known as Brachygobius Doriae, is a small and strikingly patterned fish native to the brackish waters of Southeast Asia, including Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam. Its distinctive black and yellow bands, reminiscent of a bumblebee, along with its engaging personality, make it a favourite among aquarists. Despite their small size, Bumblebee Gobies are full of character and can add a unique charm to any aquarium.

Water Conditions:

  • Salinity: Prefer brackish water with a specific gravity of 1.002-1.005. Some individuals can adapt to freshwater, but brackish conditions are ideal for long-term health.
  • Temperature: 24-28°C 
  • pH: Slightly alkaline, 7.0-8.5
  • Hardness: Moderate to hard water, 10-20 dGH
  • Filtration: Efficient filtration to maintain water quality. Gentle water flow is preferred to mimic their natural habitat.
