The German Red Devil Angelfish is a striking ornamental freshwater angelfish, admired for its vibrant red-orange colouration, contrasting dark markings and elegant flowing fins. Its bold appearance and graceful swimming behaviour make it a beautiful centrepiece for a well-maintained freshwater aquarium.
Like other freshwater angelfish, it has a laterally compressed body and long, flowing dorsal and anal fins. It appreciates a planted aquarium with vertical decorations, driftwood and plenty of swimming space.

German Red Devil Angelfish benefit from a varied and balanced diet. Offer quality angelfish pellets or tropical flakes as their staple food, supplemented with frozen or live foods such as bloodworms, brine shrimp and daphnia. A nutritious diet helps support healthy growth, condition and colour development.
A tall aquarium is recommended to accommodate their body shape and flowing fins. Provide broad-leaved plants, driftwood and vertical structures that create sheltered areas while maintaining plenty of open swimming space.
They can be kept with appropriately sized, peaceful community fish. Avoid very small fish that may be eaten and aggressive or fin-nipping species that may damage their delicate fins. During breeding, angelfish can become territorial and may defend their eggs and chosen spawning area.
